A couple days ago after I downloaded some videos everything was fine. Today I did a short practice set only to realize that some of those videos were playing the song from one artist but a totally different video. Several videos did that.
Anyway I searched and I noticed that the audio songs that were playing the wrong video in the File Infos there was an option to Remove Linked Video. In those video files at the bottom of those files it said Linked File and something esle so it would play the video that was 'Linked in' instead of the video to the song that was actually playing.
What could have happened and is this preventable? I know how to fix it now but it just momentarily freaked me out..

What happened is that you loaded an audio track in the deck first, and then a video track by drag and drop on the video preview area (instead of the deck area).
This way you created a link (video of the second file linked to the loaded audio).
It is one of those smart features VirtualDJ has, but you need to know how to use.

Oh ok. Yes I remember with the condensed skin. I dragged the video to the deck but if I didn't drag it high enough it would only load the audio and not the video. Then I re-dragged the video to the upper deck area where it would load the audio and video. I didn't realize it was changing anything at that moment.

Yes, I did it already.
If you want to sort your linked video files, you can create a filter folder with the action haslinkedvideo.
To remove the link, right click each file and choose remove video link.

I have all my linked videos fixed but just trying to gain some knowledge now. And now that I have thought about it yes this is a great feature if someone is willing to learn and to understand how it to use it.

Got it. Spent some time in the 'filter folder' Wiki. Things are starting to make sense now.
