So I just scored a pair of Gemini PT-2400 turntables. I know, I know...why Gemini, right? Well, I got them BOTH for $75 total. So that now brings my collection up to 6 turntables (2 technic 1200 MK2's, 2 Numark TTX's, and the Gemini's). Anyway, one of the Gemini's has a broken tone arm and I was wondering if anyone by chance might know where I could pick one up. They are discontinued models, and I emailed Gemini tech support. They weren't too helpful. I'm thinking maybe I could possibly just buy a new Technic's tone arm since they are readily available everywhere, but I'd like to try and stick with Gemini parts so that I know everything fits and works together. I'm actually quite surprised at how well the PT-2400s perform. I played around with the one that doesnt have a broken tone arm, and the torque on them is way higher than my 1200's. Plus having a dedicated reverse button, pitch bend buttons and LCD display is cool....gimmicky, but cool. Well worth $75 for the pair. I'll use these as just a set at home to play around with since my 1200's are used for gigs.
Thanks if anyone has any insight on new tone arms. :)
