I'm at a tailgate party using Win 7 ... Vdj is not seeing the database on my external "M" drive. Under My Computer the drive indeed shows up as M but all the file information bpms etc are BLANK!
I've tried all I can think of.
EDIT.... Got it. It was a permissions issue...had to hsnge it under Users...doh.

Here is, pretty much, how I fixed it yesterday... (taken from part of djDad's post)
Make sure you have full access to the HD, as it may carry some Proprties from yoru other computer/OS. Rightclick on the HD (in Windows Explorer)-->Properties-->Security tab and make sure your account name (username) has full access to that HD.
My passport drive is M so I first changed the drive letter to that. In the end the "user" of the computer in security was not set for full access to the external drive..so I checked all the boxes. A different user (my name) instead of using the admin account and it was just that the permissions for my username were not set correctly for the external drive.
