Is it possible to map the NS7 platter to autocue? And if so, how?

Thanks in advance.

I am not home right now or I would test this function. But I am a little confused why you would want an NS7 with motorized platters and then use them for something else. Perhaps if I Understood the thought process I could help more.

BUT I also see you are an LEuser and I am not sure you can modify these settings. So if you can, open the VDJ settings and go to the mapper tab. You will have to select your controller at the top of that window. Find the platters and type "auto_cue".

Long story short about LE designation. My partner & I both purchased VDJ Pro at the DJ Expo in AC in 2007. My bag was stolen on the exhibit floor, so I never had the opportunity to register my copy. I continued to use my TTM 57 & Serato until I purchased a controller. My partner now uses Traktor exclusively with his Z2, allows me to use his copy that he no longer has any need for.

My reasoning for the auto cue is as follows. I've grown accustomed to the way the Pioneer CDJ 800's auto cue and I have been able to map my controllers to duplicate that function.

On my Mixtrack & NS6 there's a JOG_TOUCH key that makes it possible. That key is missing on the NS7. I'm not sure what key(s) to change to replicate the action on the NS7.

Thanks again.

Guess it would be best when you contact us on support side.
When you will send us a screenshot from the VDJ Config - Info TAB we will normaly be able to find the licence.

PS:How have you moved the software to your side without a key?

As previously mentioned my bag was stolen at the DJ Expo before I had a chance to install anything. VDJ staff at Expo stated there was nothing that could be done, therefore I continued using SSL with my 57sl.

I rarely ask questions here. I try to figure things out myself. I ran into something that I haven't seen mentioned before or addressed, so I thought I would ask. Didn't expect the CSI on my key.

Bottom line, me & my partner purchased 2 keys & we currently use 1. If folks have an issue with that, that's unfortunate. However, if someone is able to address my initial question, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Have a wonderful day.

I don't think it's CSI - I think someone was trying to help you obtain the key. But maybe its not possible in your circumstance.

I'm not familiar with the NS7 or the function your after, so sadly I can't help. But it may be worth following Haui suggestion.

Thanks
Dan

And as I had mentioned, I am out of state right now. So I can't test what Auto Cue does in order to help make a usefull suggestion. What does Auto Cue do? It sounds more like a button function than a Jog function.

Patients dude... People don't respond well to confrontation, including myself. They were just trying to help with your other issue while you wait. As for me I was trying to get more info for me, for when I get home or the next guy who might have the ability to help you right now.

While we are on the subject though, I was unclear on if LE allowed you to config anything like custom mapping. Which was all I asked. If Pro was stolen or for some reason you do not have access to it, are you able to get to the mapper tab with what you have in your possession?

Actions and Modes based on the touchwheel_touch action can not work with motorized platters and jogwheels without touch sensitive key.
Same goes for the Slip mode and any other mode or action that needs a touch sensitive platter.
So if the autoCue mode you are after is based on the above, it wont work.

Thanks for the info djdad. It's much appreciated.

DHoude. being confrontational was never my intention. Sorry about that. I am using our second pro key that was used before my partner moved on to Traktor, so yes I have access to custom mapping.

No problem bro, just hate when people try reading too far into questions. My questions about functionality were pretty much answered by DJ Dad. I just didn't know what the function did.

Most script functions are button presses or conditional question. Add that to the NS7 is a very different tool when it comes to motorized platter functions. So I did not see how a platter would emulate what I assumed was a button type function that is either on or off. To further that, I was not sure I understood why one would want to do that. It seemed to me like there would be a better option to use.
