Topic: Strange thing happened tonight....

I have a trivia gig on tuesdays nights, I run video all night long. out of nowhere the audio went into distortion. I tried a different track - same thing. I talked on the mic - it was normal. I played a track off my ipad thru aux 2 (Denon 6000) sounded perfect. Left the ipad playing - rebooted VDJ and everything was fine for the last 1/2 of the night.

Thoughts on what is going on here?

Not good mate. Saturday night had issues with new gear so spent early Sunday morning putting together old kit. Sunday afternoons Gig was great. My sunday night Venue started off smart and then the Fan went in my Amp. Got a replacement from home and then VDJ went into Auto mode on the pitch control. My Mrs assured me no one had been behind my station and messed with the gear. Gremlins for over 45 minutes and then fine. So all the new gear has gone back and American Audio mxr19 arrives tomorrow.

I hate gremlins...hasnt done it since. I use the setup 4 times a week. im having a hard time believing its the Asio - but hey its technology so it very well could be - I havent changed anything yet - lets see what tonight and the weekend brings

I found Asio would work perfectly for ages, then go all to crap during the middle of a gig.

No regrets moving to WDM although the sound isn't quite as good.

This should be a thing of the past when V8 arrives.

It's always been an issue specifically with the MC6000 and Asio drivers due to the 44.4 to 48khz conversion.

Some people get it worse than others.

Asio drivers in general can do this as they need a slick machine to run them and support the low latency required.

I don't know if you have been listening, but do yourself a favor. Do not use the ASIO drivers, with the Denon 6000. We have all tried, and it will bite you sooner or later. If you have a power cord that works most of the time, do you still use it? I don't know how we can say it any clearer.
