Topic: Playlist question... ( I should know this)

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

Hi All,

I have been using VDJ since day one but I have always used a folder structure, instead of a playlist structure. This has allowed me to have sub folders and sub, sub folders...

My question is, if I want to have a main category, like "weddings" and have different "playlists" (not folders) within that main category, how do I do it?

Basically, how do I put a playlist within a folder in VDJ? To keep the playlists together, under the main category.

I could have searched for the answer but I was unsure of what terms to use...

Any help would be appreciated!

You can create all your playlists inside the program and name them accordingly. If you need to make categories or folders go to Documents>VirtualDJ>Playlists and create a new folder; 'Weddings' as an example.

Then move the playlist files you want associated with that category into the subfolder.

Okay... tried that and now the playlist does not show up in Virtual DJ, nor does the parent folder.

Should the folder show up under "playlists" in VDJ and the playlist appear within the folder?

I am on a Mac, not sure if that changes things.

On relaunch of the software, the parent folder should be under playlists and clicking on that folder should reveal the playlists in that folder.

I have restarted the software and all I see is the \"playlist\" folder.

If I click on the + next to the folder, it does nothing. I even tried to make it a \"Favorite\" and see if I can see the playlist and that did not work.

Any other suggestions?

You are correct. It works great on the PC side but unfortunately not on the Mac side. Looks like the playlist files can't be put into subfolders.

The only suggestion I can make for this is to group your playlists in iTunes and use that instead.

Ah, makes sense.

Hopefully this will be fixed in VDJ8.

Thanks for your help!
