Me and a friend are broadcasting via a shoutcast server tonight but although the mic works live it does not broadcast over the stream send by VDJ? Any ideas?

Sounds like you are using a Controller with integrated soundcard that analogue mixes the mic to the audio material inside the device.
You need to connect your Line Output of the Controller to a FREE Line input on your Computer.
Then configure the RECORD LOOPBACK in your Audio settings and select the channel and soundcard for the line input.
