Hello,
Last night i was playing a gig, and towards the end of the night a friend of mine asked if i could play a song for him off his USB.
I agreed and plugged his USB into my laptop and loaded up his song on to the left deck.
As the track was playing i loaded up another on the right deck, but all of a sudden there was no sound from the right deck?
The left was OK and was playing out his track fine but on my mixer channels there was no volume at all for the right deck so i had to stop.
I tried switching my right deck to USB mode & then back to PC mode but it didnt work.
I then closed VDJ and opened it back up and walla! it was working fine again..Has anyone had this before?
It's kind of put me off a little bit -.-
Thanks guys.

what version of virtual dj are you using as your listed as having le and that will not work with the cdj 350 other than the 10 min trial for pro full.

I use pro, and no before anyone hits it's legit.

Are you plugging into a hub or into the laptop itself?
Could you have bumped the cable for the other CDJ causing it to disconnect. If it disconnects, then the sound driver may "disconnect" causing an error that the software needs to restart to clear.
Add your pro serial number to your profile so that you can check for the proper version in the download center as compared to what is installed.

Walla is a common term in my area this side of the pond. A synonym to voilà.

My cousin is a karaoke DJ and he uses PCDJ & VDJ & with me only doing house partys etc i use his VDJ untill i can afford it myself, thats why i'm on as LE (mixtrack pro).
& no i never knocked any cables, i just simply plugged in a USB to lappy and the oppersite channel went off, really bizzare.

So i read what you said about the drivers "disconnecting" and it seems to be that exactly, while in MIDI mode i switched to USB on my left deck and then back to MIDI again and the problem came again "no sound in mixer".
Now obviously that because i disconneted it myself by switching but does anyone know why it could do that on its own?
is it possibly a dodgy driver cable? (CDJ to Laptop) althogh they are brand new (but didnt come with the cdjs) i had to buy them myself...

make sure your usb posts are set to never go to sleep to save power.
right click my computer and manage to check

Have you checked that the CDJ's have the latest firmware?

I've just checked and they're set to never sleep, & yes theyre all up to date, its really annoying :/

Unfortunately, it looks like an issue with the CDJ's internal configuration.
When switching between modes the USB chipset disables the sound card. I could see it occasionally "working" if the OS detects the sound card again before you try to use it. But, I don't know how stable that would be. I would recommend picking a mode and sticking with it for the gig. Another way would be to use a different sound card as the below post suggests.

EDIT: I posted this to early this morning to realize you were playing from the PC not the CDJ. I knew this before, but it slipped my mind when making this post.

Are you using ASIO or WDM (if in windows) drivers?
Are you only using the CDJ's sound card, no others like your mixtrack?

I dont switch modes in the gig.. that was an example what i tried when i was home ^^..
when in MIDI mode and i'm half way through a gig, one channel just stops pushing out sound..
& as for the sound card im on "Pioneer CDJ 1 & Pioneer CDJ 2".
Not ASIO (the latency on that makes my audio distort no matter how much i change it so i stick to them ^.
Thanks for replies so far :-)

I had problems with my CDJ-400 and WDM drivers. My sound would stop after about an hour of play. Switching to ASIO stopped that issue.

If i use ASIO drivers the audio stops, no matter what the latency.

What is your CPU load during the time when the audio quits?
Does this happen with your controller as well?
Are you using the controller at the same time as the CDJ's?
Are you running a lot of effects or video, or is this just audio?
Have you checked out the FAQ for performance issues?
