Ok, the loop seems different. It tends to 'redo' the previous sample and having it either run like 7 or I need to re-learn the loop.

You mean the loop is of already played track, rather than track-to-be-played?
If so, there is a 'back' option in the loop panel. Turn that off :)

You have probably missed this too. This is what u get when u first activate a loop. You need to select the 2nd option to get the version 7 loop behavior
