Topic: downloading music into software

Thanks in advance for any help. I recently switched to a mac and have been taking it day by day. my most recent problem is that when i download music to be played only about 15 seconds of it seems to be ready. Even though the rest of the song doesn't look to be ready i can click anywhere on the song and it does play right away and the next few seconds seem to register. I do use this a lot to see upcoming beats and other spots to i can mix next song. has this happened to anyone. any solutions

Downloading music from where? Content Unlimited?

Are you actually downloading to cache or streaming to the deck? There is a difference.
To download right click the track in the browser and select download to cache
To stream, drag and drop the file onto the deck

Are you correctly logged in to Virtual DJ in the config screen?

Which version of VDJ are you running - 7 or 8?

Apologies for all the questions - just trying to gauge exactly what the issue might be.
 
Thanks! Both my music originally brought over via ex hard drive and downloading music through content unlimited.
I do download it to my cache however also happens when streamed to the deck. In both instances i press play button and am able to move pointer throughout the song on the deck and beat pattern appears. I have been doing this before i actually play song so I can see it.

Looks like I have version 7.4.1 pro mac
Is there a version 8 that I should instead? When i try to load latest version it says i have the latest version
 
 
Something to do with pre-load memory time? check that it's set high enough (mine's 15 minutes).
 
THAT WAS IT GROOVINDJ!!!! I thought that was the problem before and put in 999 thinking i would never go that hi. I put in down to 20 and now its working. Thanks again. I was looking at 8 and looks like they aren't recommending it for use while performing. Has it been working for you guys. Thanks again.
 
999 probably confused it totally!
 
If you download Version 8 you have the same setting available to you.

You can set the number of minutes to load (default is 50) or if you set it to -1 it will ALWAYS preload.
Just bare in mind that it gets loaded in your memory, so if you have a small amount or a very large file the you won't want -1
