OK i have a hybrid mixer and ive been testing the crossfader for tightness and been feeling like ive gotten sloppy so after measuring the cut distance i notice it took a longer open throw than im looking for..so was saving for a innofader but after doing some in-depth tweaking with v8.. i pulled up all the crossfader options so 1 i disabled it and removed the mapping all together. Just leaving a mapping of Video_crossfader. And man is there a big difference. I mean crabs a detectable when before they where sloppy..I mean clean. So for all those with hybrid mixers like m70, MXRs just diable the crossfader completely and remove the midi map just leaving video_crossfader so the video crossfader is active. you wont believe the difference

Yup always disable it if your using an external mixer.
Had to do the same thing with my DJM T1.

ok soo my hybrid mixer is my home and big gig device but for smaller gigs i use a vci400 and i set that up first when i use that will i have to change the crossfader setting or are these setting device specific.

Not sure about that bro. All of my mixers, an Ecler NUO4, Pioneer 800 and Pioneer DJM T1 can pass both midi and audio at the same time so I've only mapped the video crossfader.
Even with my Mixdeck Quad I've only mapped the video crossfader.
I'd if it can pass both midi and audio then switch the mapping and see if that'll work for you. But again I could be way off base as I've never used that unit.

The VCI is a MIDI mixer so uses the VDJ internal mixer. This means you have to leave the crossfader enabled if you want to use it.
For an external mixer that mixes audio but provides a MIDi signal too then you should always either unmap the audio crossfader or disable the VDJ audio crossfader.

what i was asking is that something that has to be done manual or can i save setups per controller?
Inviato Wed 11 Jun 14 @ 2:14 pm
You can save settings for different setups.....

i know that to be true for mappings but is that true for the options
Inviato Wed 11 Jun 14 @ 4:56 pm
Yes and no. Not in the same way as mapping but you can program a custom button for each setup:
Button 1: crossfader_curve 'smooth' & setting 'crossfaderHamster' on etc etc
Button 2: crossfader_curve 'full' & setting 'crossfaderHamster' off etc etc
Then just click the appropriate one and all the options will be changed in one click.
