Topic: is this ok to do

I'm getting all messed up with my music collection which is stored & backed up in so many places its starting to confuse me !

I thinking if I just put it all on a high capacity portable drive and then swapped it over to what ever computer I'm using at the time, then the VDJ database will in theory be the same (all the cue points, tag edits etc etc ).

does this sound feasible?

Yep feasible, just copy on to the external in VDJ and the database will carry over.
 
Not only in theory also in practical use, cause the db with all the informations is stored on the external also. This happens also to e.g. Virtual Folders you have created using your ext. hdd.

To copy Filter/Virtual Folders you also need to make a copy of the VirtualDJ folder in the root of your device.

Can I just confirm you mean the main VirtualDJ folder in my documents that contains all the sub folders & files - Skins, plugins etc etc ?
 
On the main disc it's called: \Documents\VirtualDJ\Folders\

I think on external devices it is \VirtualDJ

You do mean copy the VDJ folders to the external from within VDJ?
I'm surprised that works, how does it know the new file path? I shall have to give this a test..
