Hi all, I use an external HDD for my music and have just seen in the VDJ backup folder a 54MB broken database.xml file dated 23/06/2014 and next to it another date 31/07/2014. I believe this was created after a recent update (1901.751). What I'm trying and failing to understand is - was this the original database I've been using for the past 2years (hence the size) and the recent update (above) has screwed it up and replaced it with a much smaller file 30MB, and does this explain why files that I know I've scanned and added in the past month up to that update now have no info including never been played, times played, and would it explain why all the past months tracks as well as a few albums/folders all say 'first seen 01/08/2014' etc?, and if it is can I restore it (if it's not faulty of course) to it's original place?

Yep that will be your old one,
Try switching it but I'd guess it really is broken, maybe atomix could tell you where/how it is broken. as their debug version will be able to tell them
one misplaced < can screw loads up.
I'd have a look at the end of the new db (or maybe the start) and try find the same track in the old db, the error might be there.
Tell ya what upload both to some sort of dropbox and I'll have a look.

Forgot to say, I tried it about half hour after I posted the message, it wasn't as corrupted as I/it thought. it was just 4 folders and 5 songs it stumbled over, so i moved the folders and tracks and restarted VDJ and hey presto it was all good, and the only songs it didnt scan were the new ones i put in since the update. So at the moment it's all good

Nice, 14 MB of database text saved. Best get into the habit of backing the db up weekly.
