is it possible to have (for example) the bpm list a different colour from the rest of the browser, as in red for bpm and all the bpm of the tracks have the same colour as in the attached image ?(photoshop mock up btw), which actually reminds me to ask another question, is it also possible to have the bpm numbers directly under the BPM column rather that to the right extreme right, then again I also think it's a good idea to have everything centered, so the list of keys isnt jammed next to the length list (hope that made sense)

Alignment, I agree text should be left aligned, numbers/keys should be centred, but I believe it is hardcoded
As for colouring the bpm field, I assume you want this so it stands out and can be easily located, I have my browser set so the first field is bpm so it's easy.

I tried having the bpm 1st for about 10days but my brain is hardwired to have title/artist/album/bpm/key. If the colour thing is hard coded is there a way to have the bpm field a different font maybe?
 
The alignment is something that we requested since the initial release of VDJ 8, and should still be done. (All of the columns should have some sort of alignment, not some left and some right.)

In regards to color coding just some of the line, I don't think that is possible. I looked around in various XML files and it appears to be the entire line or nothing.

(I tried using BPM first, however I couldn't deal with that for longer than 3-4 minutes... Had to have Title/Artist up front... :-)
 
Thanks for the input fellow Djs, I'll just have to lump it as it is till I find another solution, thanks again.
 
just thinking 'outside' the box here but it may be possible to get what you want by first editing the skin you use, to incorporate another 'column' in the main part of the browser and the write a bit of code to the xml file to show just the BPM's in this area. As the new line of code is just relating to the BPM segment of text you should then be able to colour it to whatever you want.

To me it seems feasible to do this but it also seems a lot of work just to change a colour! That said I can see the benefit of doing it as I also have my bpms on the first column and was actually just thinking how I could make them standout a bit more !

Be good to hear others thoughts on this but if I get time I will have a play with trying to do it.

I'm proper rubbish at this xml lark, but let me/us know how you get on
 
In theory, you could have a 2nd Browser in a skin, and have a different color for that one and then choose only to see the BPM column, but the point is that the Browsers wont scroll together, and they wont provide the same search results, so what you ask cannot be done.
I would advise you to add this to the Requests and Wishes Forum, but i find that rather extreme to get a good rank in the Team's Todo list.
 
Thanks DJ for the reply - that was basically what I was thinking although I didnt consider the scrolling bit which makes total sense.
