Have got cdj 2000s and a 900srt mixer. All is working well so far. Still in the testing stages before taking it to a gig.
What I wanted was to get the cross fader linked to vdj. Have checked the settings and crossfader is enabled in vdj but doesn't move when I operate the mixer. Also I want the cdj patters to turn red when they are live. They do this when using cds or Serato but not in VDJ
Any help, as always, is much appreciated.

Hi, you'll need to map the crossfader to virtual dj, but the question is, why?
Unless you're doing video mixing, you're better off just leting the mixer do the mixing :-D

It was to active the "on air" function of the cd players. For some reason the platter does not change to red when I move the crossfader. i thought it might be a vdj thing.

Even with the crossfader in the correct position, they won't change colour - on the 2000s the white is mapped to 'on' and the red is mapped to 'off'.
You could try changing this, maybe something like
white - deck active ? off : on
red - deck active
However I've done some reading and apparently a firmware change has changed how this works:
