This will definitely work. Did not mention run time for battery, so looked it up and found 10 hours. I like this option better. Finally getting to total wireless.

I have an Ion Tailgater with a 12 hour battery but it's nothing like this. I don't like that you have to buy the lithium battery & polemount separate but I'm not too worried about the battery. My biggest concerns are how it will sound with such small speakers and looking like an ametuer using a boom box lol But if it works out that's room in the trunk for more lighting and gear.

Hi guys, I saw this post, and was curious did anyone ever buy the Mackie Freeplay? A local guy I know has one and loves it. I am curious of others experience with it. I would like to use it for cocktail hour and ceremonies indoor/outdoor.

It will probably work, but there is a reason why decent speakers are big and heavy. Sound is all about air movement, so the bigger the cone, the more air it can displace. That said, it would suit a singer songwriter type of gig, a bit like the Bose L1 system, but you are never going to rock the party with one, and it would need to sound amazing to get over how it looks. I had a Bose L1s system for about a year. Worst thing i ever bought. Sound quality was great and it fit in the boot of my car, but just couldn't deal with anything more than 50 people gig.
