Topic: audio split automatically from controller to pc soundcard

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

hi all.. is it possible to make audio split automatically from external controller to internal audio soundcard? and opposite??
i ask you this because in a gig yesterday i see my collegue with external pioneer controller link to a mac pc and running serato.. in the middle of gigs we touch the current cable and the controller turn off.. but automatically the serato put split audio to soundcard pc..
probably my collegue knows about the problem with power cable.. and put a y minijack cable to headphone out of mac soundcard..
this mean that when the controller loose current, the audio istantly go out from soundcard output.. and by linking this out to a 3rd channel in external mixer (always open) , people can't listen the controller fallout!!
and the SUPERTHINGS is that when the pioneer controller has current , and we turn on, the serato (or the mac pc, i don't know wich ones) split automatically audio into controller pioneer again!!!
I THINK THIS IS the best features..
do you think is possible to make same things with VDJ???
today i try lots of situation..

vdj stop when i disconnect external controller, but if i go into audio configuration and change to soundcard output, it continue to play..
when i reconnect the external controller vdj automatically link the jog and the main function.. (i can controll mp3, scroll, select song) but not the audio... i have to go into audio config and change manually...

let me know guys.. ;-)

No, I think it's exactly as you explained - you have to change the output manually

Serato is a lot simpler in that regard. You have to use a Serato device, and the sound will come from that. If a Serato device is not connected Serato runs in prepare mode with only one deck and internal soundcard

In VDJ you can setup tens or hundreds of different sound output routes - so it'll be hard for the software to guess which output route to choose, if it looses the main output

hi klaus.. thanks for yr answer..
i think is a very simple things to program an automatic sistem that let you never interrupt the sound.. i know there are lots of audio configuration.. but it would be good if there's an interruption that vdj goes automatically into a default simple master channel on pc soundcard!!!
i know it's a stupid things. because it will never loose the controller signal.. but i can tell you that on every gig.. someones comes to my booth and often move pc or my case.. and the usb connection fail!! it's a very big problem.. but using the AUTO SPLITTER AUDIO could be a safe mode to repristine the external controller..

do you think is possible to set a key from keybaord, with a script that do this AUTO CHANGING AUDIO???

been oldschool dj. I always put some gorilla tape on the power cables . on the running cables on floor. Even on the signal cables to avoid this situations on the middle of the gigs...

GK.
