Topic: Volume faders - solution?

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

I have a Traktor Kontrol X1 mk1: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/81ZP2x-tWEL._SL1500_.jpg

It has everything that I need for mixing, except for one important thing ..volume faders. I'm hoping maybe there's a way to hack something together, so I've come here for some ideas.

It would be ideal if I could just buy a couple of faders on their own, and run them through VDJ with the X1. I could fix the faders to either side of the X1. Is that possible?

I'm not too sure of the best way to go, you could get the iRemote and knock up a skin for just the mixer and use phone/tablet. If you like bodging electronics together the teensy 3.1 has a library for a multi axis joystick, 64 byte in total so if you were brave you could have 64 * 8 bit sliders with the right multiplexer, or if you where less brave I think the teensy supports 10 Analogue inputs without going PMW or multiplexing.
You could Hack a HID joystick. I think most have at least 4 analogue axis', probably 6.

And there's also bluetooth faders...

There's cheap basic controllers like the iRig

Of course you'll need a pro licence.

Just buy a Kontrol Z1 to match your X1

I'm after 2 physical linefaders. I don't need a crossfader. I could probably rotate a crossfader 90 degrees and use it as a linefader?

I'd rather not get into all the circuitry stuff locodog, but I will if it's the best option. Cheers the teensy info. Could I not just buy a fader and solder on a usb? The only bluetooth fader I found was the mixfader on kickstarter.

Phantom, I had considered that but having the linefaders in the wrong place isn't great for mixing. Ideally I'd get a Z2, but it's out of my price range.

If I could find a couple of standalone usb faders, attaching to either side of the X1 would be perfect.

There are stuff like this but it's one usb cable to one fader (I canhas tangle), if you want simple and cheap go for (and Frankenstein) an iRig, the teensey option will be about the same cost but much more adaptable 2 10K faders will just solder on, it isn't plug and play but it isn't very hard plug the teensey is HID so better resolution than midi and less latency.
