OK whilst you're young you happily move around the heaviest of speakers, and equipment in the search for perfection.
Beware.
You might still be able to enjoy you're life as a DJ at 75 !
Look after your back, and knees.
Anyway Aldi are selling a compact fold up trolley for just under £15.
It looks great !
(Their also selling good quality gaffa tape at £2.29 a roll.
The only problem is it's silver.)
PS: I'm an idiot, I only started using my trolley in the last 12 months. My daughter bought it for me a few years ago, but I wouldn't use it because I thought it was a lazy way. We only have so many miles in our knees, and backs, then were finished.

          Thanks, Big Ron. Those are good points. My main roadie is starting to get back problems, and I'm not far behind.
I too have been looking for a trolley-like cart to move bunches of bags and equipment without risk of things falling out/over or having to spend time using tie downs. None of the DJ carts seem to have sides on them. There is one cart on the market that looks good for tranporting lots of groceries around but I doubt it is strong enough to hold lots of heavy things without breaking or falling over.
What have others found, if anything, that is:
(1) easy to put in and take out of a van, such as a minivan;
(2) capable of moving a lot of stuff together, like 4 or 5 big bags or a pair 12 inch speakers;
(3) will do that without risking tipping or falling off or breaking the sides;
(4) is quick to load and unload
Aha! I Googled "kids wagons" and found this, which doesn't seem to be childlike at all. Something like this is what I had in mind. People say it is easy to assemble, but I wonder how well and easily it really breaks down and sets up. Still, I might have found something a lot better than my status quo.

          That wagon is too big for DJ work, because of the space it needs in a mini van. I use a mini van, and this is what I use. They have smaller models, but this works for me.

          I've been looking into the Rock N Roller Multicarts with the shelf that can be used during the gig. I wouldn't mind loosing a folding table and gaining a cart. The issue I have with carts is having a place to put it during the gig. I can't always put stuff in a back room or something, so I have to pack it back to my trailer.
Being able to set up on top of the cart, and put covers/bags on the lower shelf looks like a good option.
Wrapping everything with a facade may make it all look real clean.
They even have international distributors to help the boys across the pond.

I don't have a need for sides. If I am dealing with a rough terrain or high stack, I just strap it all to the cart.

          I loved my Rock n Roller, but not as much as the sorry sack that swiped it, apparently. Did not know about the shelves for the carts, extremely cool.
Thanks for sharing.

          I suppose I shouldn't tell you, what the hell, I go out to work with two elastic bandages on each knee. Over the weekend I was very busy, yet today I was still able to mess around with my lights in my garden.
Sportsmen also use the very same bandages.
I'm 64 in a couple of weeks.
My left foot is hurting today because it tapped for 6 hours yesterday, plus a lot more effort.
I think even the young will know what I'm talking about !

Setting up the equiment on a shelf would help keep people from swiping it. Sorry that had to happen.

          seen the Rock'n'Roller for some time (mail order/Musicians friend.com) ,been popular with musicians for some time.but a 29 $ collapsible trolley sold at Home depot that holds 150 Lb is good deal also.either way "gotta watch our backs" after a certain age.

          Even from quite young we need to be careful. I trapped a nerve around 30 years ago which was very painful for around 5 to 10 years. Sciatica is nasty, it feels like your leg is on fire. Given time the pain was replaced by a numbness.

You would be there all day with a full rig, using this thing. The rock and roller allows me to make two trips, and that's with 2 subs and 2 50 inch screens, lights, and all the other stuff. I just became a year older on the 7th, and am just as old as some of you. I have some health issues, but trying to work smarter.

          Happy belated birthday. I hope you had a good day.
I had a gig 3 days after my surgery last July. When I watched everyone else struggle with the equipment, I rethought how everything was together.
I went from a large rolling rack that held everything to a few smaller cases.
I now have to work on getting single 18" subs to replace my double 18"
I know how sore I get after a ten day event. Being 6'1" 250lbs., I didn't realize how heavey everything was.

          I DJ at home sitting down on a comfortable chair. If I stand up for more than 1 minute I start to get uncomfortable.

          LOL
You will almost certainly remain a very comfortable, and happy home DJ.
No aches, and pains for you the next day !
