Topic: Audio settings and crates on VDJ8

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

Hello everyone,

I had one hell of a time trying to configure VDJ8 with my Gemini CDJ700's, and for a while I completely gave up on VDJ8 and went back to 7. I bought a new lap top and I decided to give a try once more. I was finally able to configure the audio settings with my cdj's and I pressed the button to save the settings and even named it Gemini Settings, so as to click on it, should I had to switch hardware.

It worked fine the second time I loaded VDJ8 and my cdj's, I had no glitches, and all of the audio settings were in place, I was a happy camper. . . until last night.

I went o my event, hooked up my cdj's loaded up virtual DJ and to my surprise, all of the settings were wrong, cdj's we inverted, no sound coming out of the channels, reset the settings, sound was coming out of one channel, and the wrong channel, so it was a nightmare. It took me about 20 minutes just to be able to get my cdj's and vdj8 to work properly, this lead to my question.

Why bother giving us an option to save the settings, if at any given moment vdj8 will just reconfigure the audio settings to something else? It is a pain in the rear!

Secondly, when using vdj7, my friend will hook up his external hard drive and all of his serato crates will be visible, how ever, this was not the case last night. My friend hooked up his EHD and not a single crate was visible!

Is there a setting that we must click on, adjust, enable, so as to make vdj7 read serato crates like vdj7 does?

I will kindly appreciate any positive feedback.

Thank you.

Same problem with pioneer CDJ. Sometimes it works well, but sometimes you need to redo the whole sound setup. Decks are inverted, music is inverted...
I mentioned it before, but still no solution.. Why not always taking the cdj with the lowest midi-channel as deck one/left.

you might need to define the seratoFolder setting when you connect an external drive to get the crates working

just search seratoFolder in settings

Same with Denon CDJ, but I very rarely use them now.

What operating system are you using?
Vista was hopeless, Win 7 is much better.
I don't like the look of Win 8.

I had the same problem with the pioneer CDJ2000's. Music get inverted, sound come out of the wrong channel, it's just a mess. With the Gemini CD700's it's the same thing. However, this problem only happens when I'm using Virtual Dj8, if I switchback to seven, the audio configuration is so much easier and it usually saves the audio settings.

What is wrong with 8???

OS X Yosemite 10.10.4

I think this has to do with what USB ports you connect to and the order the devices are detected.
I ran into this (not the decks switching) with my mixtrack pro. Each time I plugged it into a different USB port, I had to reconfigure the sound output.
Try plugging things into the same ports and in the same order to see if that make a difference.
My USB capture cards have the same issue. I have just gotten the habit of plugging things into the same spot in the same order.

Here's the funny part, I use the same port over and over. I am well aware of switching ports and for that same reason I always use the same port, and yet. . . well here I am asking why this keeps happening.

I never switch USB ports. My cdjs always stay on the same place, USB stays in the computer. It's also not which cdj you put on first. It's random. They need to look at the midi channel: lowest midi channel has to be left. It's so frustrating if you want to test a few songs, you have to redo the whole setup sometimes.

You guy might try having the cdjs connected and turned on before starting vdj each time might help
I've had a few issues connecting devices after starting vdj.

Been there done that.

Thank you for your input, but I have tried just about every thing I can think of, and it keeps happening.

I haven't check my system since Saturday, but I will check the whole system and configuration again this weekend.
