Hey, I'm super new at this and when I say that I mean today I decided I wanted to actually try and make my own mix when I thought of 2 songs that would go well together. I just downloaded this as a start and am having trouble figuring stuff out. any advice or good videos anyone would recommend for a beginner like myself? Thanks!

Hi welcome, you've got quite a path ahead of you.
This will introduce song structure and some basics.

But the best way for day 1 learning is having someone in the same room teach you. There are plenty of YT vids but my god are they dull.

Youtube provides a simple, free, and entertaining way to learn.
Just type in search terms to suit your need.
I typed "dj tutorials" and about halfway down the page I found this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3J1XvjB11r8.
I have not looked at this tutorial to see if it's any good, but if you look to its right you will see a large selection of alternatives.
"ellaskins" ...this guy lives in Wales, he has made loads of entertaining, and helpful videos.
He's not really a digital dj, but he's still one of the the best !

Note that what Ellaskins does on a pair of Nexus 2000 you can do with a modern controller.
The bottom line is that the INTERNET is the greatest teacher the world has ever seen.
Search, and study.
It's fun !

Brian S Redd is more mobile DJ oriented, he worked with the above mentioned Ellaskins on the DJ Tutor website/facebook/youtube sites.
