I am using VDJ8 latest beta build with windows 8.1. When I add new songs to my library it is displayed on my browser with a green dot on the musical note to the left of the file. The green dot seems to stay there for a long period of time before it goes away. My question is if there is a way to make the green dot go away right after the first play of that file? In VDJ7 there was a yellow dot and it did go away after the first play; which I liked better...

I'm actually looking to make it last longer. I add so much content, I need to be able to find the new stuff. Now I make play list of the new stuff. Perhaps someone will help us both.

AMAHM, why don't you create some filter folders for your recently added songs?
Examples would be:
top 100 first seen
top 1000 first seen
I'm not sure about the following, but should work too:
days since first seen <= 30
days since first seen <= 60 and lastplay = 0
(this one shows you all tracks added in the last 60 days which were never played)

The green dot/star icon indicates if a file is seen recently from VirtualDJ, meaning its a "fresh" one.
As far as I know, there is no setting to adjust the Days after a file is considered as new. Its an internal value (a few days, dont know the exact value)
Note that this was not available in version 7. The yellow indicator meant "not scanned"

It is not a big deal but if I added 20 new files they were easily recognized by the yellow dot in VDJ7. I could pick them out and listen to them to make sure the cue points are right and they are working properly. With the green dots lasting more than a day it is harder to pick out the brand new ones. I did set the tag info so that the new ones have no tag info until I go into Tag Editor and click on the arrow. So that is how I can tell the brand new ones now.
Thanks for your help as always...
