Hey guys

Yesterday it was the first time i hooked virtual dj 8 up to 2 cdj 2000.
Altough almost everything worked fine the decks were switched up. My left deck on my computer was the right deck on the cdj's.
I used eject but that didn't switch the deck also in the settings i tried to switch them up, didn't work either. Also switched usb cables, had no effect.
I wonder what I was doing wrong. I didn't play to long so it wasn't a major issue, still i would love to see a solution.
I noticed that the hot cues didn't work either.

Thanks

Could you maybe just send a screenshot of your setup?
Thanks

Eject button works, but you need to hold it pressed for 1,5 secs
It has been changed to that so that you can still eject a CD from the deck if you still use one! ;)

It has a dual function?
Moving from deck 1 to 3, 2 to 4, and switching cdj's?
If so, very handy !

Not on mine, I've just tried.
However It's worth mapping.

I remember now, it did use to work in 7.

Hm the mapping looks like it does not work.

holding 1000ms ? nothing : unload : invert_controllers & refresh_controller "1200"

Scratches head.
Time seems to do nothing.

Correction it ejects a cd like stated, or switches between 1&3, and 2&4.
I cannot see the point of ejecting a cd when the deck is in pc mode?

I changed the time to 5000ms, no change.

I seem to have broken the script, anyway I dropped " : unload" and it then worked ok ?

Holding the eject button seems to be a cdj function which always ejects a cd.

Don't know what you are trying to achieve, but maybe try this:

holding 1000ms ? unload : invert_controllers & refresh_controller "1200"

Holding for more than 1 second should unload the track.

holding 1000ms ? nothing : unload : invert_controllers & refresh_controller "1200"

I think I messed up the default command.

Instead of going into the control panel to switch decks 1 & 2 we used to be able to hold the eject button.
DJDad has pointed out this is not the case anymore.
I was wondering if that could be restored, and if it was worth the trouble.

I like your line of script, unloading a deck is very useful.
Incidentally holding down the ejects button still ejects a cd.

I had the same problem, but as I was short on time to solve the problem, I used my USB directly from the unit. After reading this post, now I know how to solve the issue, should I run into it again.

Thanks, I will try to hold the effect button on my next gig :)

From OFF (CDJs)...
1. Plug both USB
2. Turn ON CDJs *Try to turn On the Left Deck first - it might avoid inverted decks* (You will see message "A NEW DEVICE DETECTED" - Use Soundcard? Click Ok)
3. Configure your Audio Settings (First CDJ2000 Deck 1 Channel 1&2 / 2nd CDJ2000 Deck 2 Channel 1&2)
4. Click Link on CDJs (You'll see Control Mode USB Midi - Push Rotary Button to Connect)
(If display doesn't show tracks, Turn the Rotary Knob)
5. Play and Enjoy!

I would like an option that the deck with the lowest midi channel always is deck one.

This should be by default.
Does Vdj read the whole midi settings from Cdjs ?

Why do I have inverted decks sometimes? I know it's because I put them on in the wrong sequel. But I propose an option in the menu: I put on the right cdj, midi channel 2, it becomes deck one. Than I put on left cdj, midi channel 1, right cdj becomes deck 2, left is now deck one, because left cdj has a lower midi channel.

@ Warakurna, this was more like a question to the staff.

I dont know if it is like this, but in the settings on the Cdjs we can choose channels, and thats my question.
Does Vdj detect channels when connecting to the Cdjs ?
