I just purchased vdj 8 with a controller license. Is there a way to out put video to a tv with his license. If there is, I can't figure it out....thanks!

What is your connection spec for your laptop and TV? You can use either a HDMI or VGA cable to connect the laptop and TV. Also make sure your laptop display setting is set to "extend these displays" in the multiple displays tab after you connect the laptop and TV.

I'm using VGA because that's the hookup that the monitor has. I've had it hooked up to the computer, but I can't find the settings in the video tab of the program to set it to out put.

VGA is fine.
Connect your monitor.
Now right click on your desktop, and select the option graphics properties in the resulting menu.
You should get a window referring to your laptop and monitor.
In this window select the operating mode extended desktop, and set display settings suitable for your devices.
With a little luck all the operating systems are approximately the same.
This works on win7.
AH..too late.

GK that is one of the two ways of doing it, however having the screen pre-configured is a better option than dragging a window from your laptop onto the monitor, and then sizing the window to suite.
Check your graphics card options.
