Topic: Pitch-bend for sampler

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

I use the sampler a lot and often keep longer sessions of drums and rhythms play.
Sometimes (often) the need arise to pitch-bend, or fine-tune the timing between the sampler and the playing deck.
Would it be possible to add this feature to the sampler either by script or direct function in VDJ8?

Just make sure your song has a tight beatgrid, this eliminates the need to to pitch bend.
LOL, I would like to be able to do that though, along with seeing the waveform in deck 4.
Warping a track in Ableton often helps get the beatgrid right.

Not true, syncopation isn't a constant.

A good point, the automatic nature of the sampler does not work well with strong syncopated elements, however if the music is off beat in some way then human involvement would be essential. With off beat elements the use of the sampler as a drum machine could be helpful.
The automatic overlaying of bass, high hats and sync is unlikely to be appropriate to music with strong off beat elements.
Obviously I was thinking of the simplistic overlaying of elements on a piece of music with a strong constant bass line.
The unexpected musical events of syncopation are difficult to incorporate into a mix.
This is why the sampler is an area of study.
Skill levels will go through the roof, and genius will appear.
The great will emerge from the young given half a chance.
These young people who the future will create will make today's superstar DJ's look like wooden dummies.
Amongst other things I think they will be skilled drummers.

This probably means the sooner full deck controls can be applied to the sampler the better.
For the moment we have to make do with what we have.

I suspect that no matter how hard Pioneer tries they will not be able to separate the future superstar DJ from his laptop.
It will increasingly become an essential on stage tool.
