Topic: Question About VDJ 8 Folder

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

VDJ 8 has a folder with the path virtual dj\cache\covers. This folder contains all the thumbnail jpgs that show up next to the song titles. My question is this: What is the difference between the GO, GS, IT prefixes? I also noticed many file have a prefix of GS and others gs. What does all of this mean???

por que no me salen los nombres de las canciones??? me sale track 1 y asi todos

The only pattern that i can think of is that IT are covers from the music file and GO are covers found by VirtualDJ on Google.
Maybe GS means that the cover is from an external file like music-file-name.jpeg, AlbumArt.png or something.

All i know is that since i have the covers always inside the files (embedded) i have almost only IT- files in that folder.

Good question so far, i think a staff member needs to solve this.

Regards,
Daniel

GS is likely to be Grooveshark.

The cover images downloaded by the tag editor are so low resolution they're not worth having anyway ...... better to use something like MP3tag to embed decent sized covers in the MP3 file.

Can you change the desired resolution somewhere in VDJ if you use the tag editor?

sure ... works also for CU files ...
you cannot change by hand.
Only select the best avaliabel resulution found in goolge or itunes

Can you show me where, because I don't find it. The covers I get are max 150 x 150, which I find to low.

yes ... honestly it would be nice if there would be resolutions up to 300x300

Thanks to everybody here. I never thought IT= iTunes, GS=Groove Shark, GO= Google and so forth. I also never thought about the resolution in that I only really see them in the corner when a track is playing. I only use basic stuff here and to read all the stuff that comes up is not only fascinating and educational.

There is no limit on the resolution by vdj. It will depend on the provider of the images at which quality they are available.

Just tested this. I get for what I was looking 20 pictures from google, none of them greater than 130 x 130, but when I look in google I see pages with pictures bigger than 500 x 500.
150 x 150 is to little.
So we need an option to search for bigger pictures.
