Topic: Powered monitors and VDJ 8 le question

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

Hi all! Got myself a pair of monitors M-Audio Bx 6 carbon couple days ago for using it with a dj controller and VDJ 8 Le and have faced a problem with the sound. The sound itself is excellent , but there is an issue with the lows. They are clear, but very "soft" it's like a constant baseline and I can't hear a drum kick( i'am mixing house and hip-hop), therefore it's hard to mix tracks on a master out. It sounds good in headphones though. The speakers are located on my desk about 10 inches from the wall and and a couple feet from myself (maybe this is an issue). I have also tried to adjust the settings in vdj in Audio( frequency equalizer) but nothing has changed. Now i'am thinking these speakers are too powerful for my room( it's about 6x6 meters) Could you guys give me an advice how to solve this problem please? Thank you.P.S. I'am sorry if the topic is in a wrong forum section.

check the speakers for a crossover switch maybe it set to kill the bass

Wickedmix, thanks for your response . Unfortunately there is no crossover switch. There is an acoustic space switch which doesn't make a difference in terms of low frequency.

You are listed as a home user, so which controller are you using? What sound card are you using, and is it set to two stereo output? If you are a LE owner, please register your license.

To A Man and his Music:1) I have checked " My Licences" in my account and it says i've got a licence VDJ 8 for RMX2, and a serial number but it also drops out a message:
This means that the serial number is already registered to another user's account. This may be because you have already previously created an account in the past and have registered your serial number to it.

Please contact support for assistance.
In a very beginning I've registered myself using a home version, but after getting a controller with serial number followed the instructions. I do apologize for my poor explanation, iam kinda new for the VDJ thing.
2) The controller is a Hercules rmx 2. An audio settings are following:
Input - none
Output- speaker and headphones
Soundcard: Dj console RMX2 Asio, Master - ch1&2, Headphones - 3 & 4.Thanks!

Is it possible that you hit the limiter?
Please change the setting zeroDB to -3 and check if it makes a difference in sound.

PachN : Sorry for a noob question, where can i find this settings?

Please read the VDJ 8 User Guide.

You will find it in options. Make sure you checked the “show advanced settings“ box at the top right of the options window.

The problem solved. Have changed an XLR cables( long, thin and cheap) for a RCA to 1/4 jack. Guys, one more question. What are your settings (numbers) in frequency equalizer(Audio settings). The thing is, when I decrease the lows, it almost fully cuts the mids off as-well. I tried to play with the numbers, but nothing has changed. Thanks
