I have a line in and line out - Virtual DJ works well and I can process the line in, do a few tasks and make it come out of the line out.
What I am looking at doing is automating a few things - I ideally need it so that if nothing is heard on the line in for ~10 seconds, it will automatically start playing a playlist and fade in. When there is something on the line in, it will automatically start fading and stop the play list... It can just fade in/fade out, no actual need to start the playlist from the beginning or stop it.
I first looked at scripts, but, I don't think that is correct as that appears to be more for Macros. I was wondering if building a plugin is the only way to do this, or, is there an easier way already built in?

You could have automix on one deck and line in on the other deck.
It is not impossible to create a script that would watch the vu meter of the line deck and count how long it's silent, then start fading to the other deck.
