Can anyone please recommend an add on that will help me achieve my goal.
I am running Virtual DJ 8 and I often use the slideshow with a number of jpg images in my slideshow folder. Every now and again I may want to promote say a drink offer in the bar. As I am doing so I would like the jpg image with the drink offer on, on the screens as I promote it on the mic. Is there anyway of maybe pausing the slideshow or is there an add-on that allows me to bring up a single image that will stay on the screen until I decide I don't need it on anymore?

Hope that makes sense, please help!

there are ways. one would to use the sampler and just trigger a static image or you could use TellyVisuals or TellyMedia to have a custom layout that would be on the screen along with the video

Phil, as Wild just said, I'd go with the sampler as well, it will be more convenient shoot a sample as an overlay on your screens while using the mic.

You can even set up sample banks for different nights of the week or occasions.

Thanks guys. Going through the sampler sounds ideal.
Correct me if I'm wrong, does that mean I can load a single jpeg image into one of the banks and it will just stay on the screens when I fire that sample bank?

pretty much. you can also control the image's overall transparency or even parts of it so that you can layer it with video still showing.

How do I get an image into a sample bank? I have tried but in my browser it will only display audio or video files thus not allowing me to drag a jpeg image into the sampler. I am running VDJ8 btw.

start here.

also you need to make sure you have added the file extension so that VDJ can recognize it. it should already but sometimes it pays to make sure.

You sir are an absolute star! Thank you very much guys that works a treat.

there are also other ways of getting info across while keeping the video going.
this is a rough draft/example I did for someone a little while ago

the ribbon was a static image (btw - static images not always the best of ideas for long term if you are dealing with plasma screens) and the moving text was done with TellyVisuals and TellyMedia Plugin - still kept information coming to the customers eyes while not interrupting their video.

Thanks, I'll have a play around with that!

Phil, if you need any help or need some visuals give me a shout.
