Just wanted to give my opinion on my new toy the Denon MCX8000 vs the
Pioneer DDJ SZ I have owned the Pioneer for a while now do not get me wrong I
do like it. It's one of the first controllers that made me feel like I was
really mixing on some decks. But I must admit the Denon feels really great
with Virtual DJ. If I had to pick between the two it would be a hard
decision both controllers have good features.
1. The Platters (for me the Pioneer wins this hands down)
2 the placement of the pitch controller (I am not a fan of the mirrored
image but the Denon wins on this one)
3. Integration with Virtual DJ they are both about the same I would rate
them good.
4 inputs and outputs (I would say that Denon wins)
5. Drivers for Windows I tested on Windows 7 and 10 (I would give the win
to Pioneer their drivers work a little bit better. Sorry I have not tested
the Mac OS yet on the Denon but Pioneer Works beautifully)
6. Pricing without a doubt Demon wins.
Just my opinion... I enjoy playing on both controllers but I do think I will
probably take the Denon out more now. Still waiting to get my hands on
another Pioneer before the end of the year I really want the XDJ-RX but I'm
going to wait until it works with Virtual DJ.

I like the fact that you own both, and it seems that you gave a honest opinion. This is the kinds of comparisons we need. I really wanted the 8000, but there are things that I like about the Pioneer. I like that it has an IEC power connection, and is not mirrored, and the platters are adjustable. I know it's crazy but I am looking at the Pioneer DDJ-RZX. It is way too big and cost way too much money, but if Virtual DJ supports it, I may just bite the bullet.

Thank you sir and yes I agree with you 100% about wanting the pioneer RZX
the only thing about it is. That pitch on the left deck it's still in the
wrong spot for me and for that type of money everything would have to be
just right. Is just too many buttons around the pitch control but trust me
I've been thinking about. That's why I think I'm going to wait for the
pioneer XDJ-RX to be supported by Virtual DJ I love its layout.

I have been debating on the sz or mcx8000 i am more dominate with the right deck mixing so the issue of the pitch wont bother me much . . now there is a sz2 comin out in jan 2017 one reason i always liked denon over pioneer. Is that every year pioneer would make a mk2 or mk3 when denon just rolled out an update

Once the DJ 808 gets VDJ support, it will blow both of these units away...
I have an SZ1 and one of my alternate DJ has the MCX8000. We have compared both units side by side with the 808 and the sound quality difference is Day and Night.
