@Charlie, there seems to be issues with the new MBP battery.

I find myself leaving it plugged in most of the time now, thing is thats not good for the battery which isn't replaceable. When I travel with it tomorrow I'll be using it for an hour or so which means I'll have to take the charger with me just in case, where as I wouldn't of done with the 2013. Time will tell with this one.

Been to the Genious Bar yesterday only to confirm the battery needs replacing. I was surprised to hear that the Applestore does not provide service for machines over 6 years old. They don't have the analysing equipment anymore and said I should go to an Apple approved service company. I can get a battery off Amazon for around £40 and fit it myself.
While in the Applestore I was checking out last years (2015) 13" MBP at £1100-1200 depending on spec. If I'm staying with Apple then that may be the way to go. I've also been checking out refurbs. So, plans are still up in the air, no rush.

Battery obtained from Amazon £45, took 15 minutes to fit. Been on all day going through the correct initialising routine, charging, discharging, charging. All is well so far.

I found use of the touch-strip :)

That's not the touch strip, the fingerprint security is on the power button. ;-)
