Because I'm on Windows 10, I have to connect my Xone:1D and map it with the simple MIDI mapper. Im hoping somebody has already done this and can point me in the right direction, or let me know of an easier way. Thank you!

Edit: Sorry, wrong forum. I'm new :(

You mean that the Xone1D is not properly detected because of some Windows 10 known issue ?
The unit is natively supported and should be offered along with its factory default mapping.
If not, then please provide the Log Report by following the next steps..
- Open VirtualDJ, goto Settings->Options tab
- Change the setting createMidiLog to Yes
- Close VitualDJ.
- Make sure the Xone1D is connected and its drivers are installed (if any offered)
- Open VirtualDJ
- Close again.
- Post here the content of the Log Report.txt file you will find in /Documents/VirtualDJ folder.

My Windows 10 laptop doesn't detect my Xone, and thus the Allen & Heath driver wizard can't detect it either and wont install the driver. And, since Windows doesn't see the Xone, it doesn't appear in Virtual DJ. I thinking it doesn't see it because the 1D is an old unit and unsupported on anything later than 8.

When I plug the Xone into my PC, it says "Last USB connected to this device has malfunctioned" and comes up Code 43 in device manager. I plugged it in to my buddy's laptop running Windows 7 and that picked it up fine, and the drivers installed without issue. I didn't have a lot of time but didn't test anything further than installing the drivers, which is still further than I got on Windows 10.

screencap of device manager

Not sure what this is but maybe its useful:

Device USB\VID_0000&PID_0006\5&37adfd2&0&2 was configured.
Driver Name: usb.inf Class Guid: {36FC9E60-C465-11CF-8056-444553540000} Driver Date: 06/21/2006 Driver Version: 10.0.14393.0 Driver Provider: Microsoft Driver Section: BADDEVICE.Dev.NT Driver Rank: 0xFF0000 Matching Device Id: USB\CONFIGURATION_DESCRIPTOR_VALIDATION_FAILURE Outranked Drivers: usb.inf:USB\CONFIGURATION_DESCRIPTOR_VALIDATION_FAILURE:00FF2000 Device Updated: false Parent Device: USB\ROOT_HUB30\4&13f24155&0&0

I contacted Allen & Heath and they directed me to use the USB to MIDI interface. I'm seeing it send MIDI signals using this method so I am inclined to believe the 1D is indeed functional. After some googling I'm unable to find any info online about the Xones native compatibility with Windows 10. I think if I had an old version of Windows I'd gain the plug-n-play functionality back but unfortunately that isn't possible atm.

This is the midi interface I'm using: https://www.amazon.com/iConnectivity-mio-1-out-MIDI-Interface/dp/B00CO5IRSG

Hopefully this sheds a little more light on my issue. I appreciate your time!

That's too bad.
Unfortunately, trying to map a device as Simple Midi will not get you any LEDs control and some encoders/jog may not be working as expected

We could try something with your USB to MIDI cable, but will need the Report Log.txt with both of them connected.
