You do the spit before the amps, regardless if they are part of the speakers (active) or in their own amp box separated from the speakers (passive)

In your case you may want to send everything to the active speakers, and have them "split" the signal by using their low/high splits or throughput. Because then you don't need another unit to handle the splitting
That'll work because the output from the active speakers are still going to be none-amplified audio as long as you use the XML outputs
So you can take that output and send it to the amp that handles your passive speakers, and then send the amplified output directly to the passive speakers

EDIT: Just checked your CV-2800. That can also do the split by using throughput. So either way will work. It then may actually be easier to send output to the CV-2800 first, and then send the throughput to the 2 bass bins, which will the be setup normally with the tops, because that will give you shorter wiring
Only thing is that your CV speakers will then get the full audio spectrum, including the low end.

The missing 1 threw me off. I didn't know, or could find, any 501s beside Lewis :)
So now I generalized my answer

Another way (maybe easier) is to make use of the multiple outputs of the SZ.

Simply feed the main XLR outs to one set of speakers, and the RCA outs (or booth outs) to the other set.

Obviously one output pair would go directly to the powered speakers and the other to the amp.

Also a great option. The passive speaker system will still get the full audio spectrum though. That may be great (for instance if they are going to be used as low volume satellites). Or it may be an issue if you want to run them hard, and they can't handle the lows. The HPF on the CV amp may be able to help you a little, but it's a 40Hz cut off, so it's probably more for speaker protection than anything else

That's the whole idea of a booth output - to feed a second set of speakers (although typically they would be facing the DJ for monitoring).

Because it's not necessary.

I know its not necessary, but a very quick and easy way to setup a rig with tons of setting opportunities.
It also gives a very good sound when using the rta.

I have 2 QSC K12 Speakers that I would be djing outside and I want to run a cable to a sound bar inside the house so the music can be heard at a lower volume inside the house. Can this be done by running a cable from one of the speakers to the 3.5 jack on soundbar?
