Ok, got to say this is very odd.
Got a Denon MCX8000, plugged in my Shure SM58 and nothing, refuses to work.
Same for my AKG SR40 wireless.
These has been an industry standard mic for decades.
Any ideas?

No outpiut to master or cue? Also check the post setting to enable mic on the booth out. Are you using XLR or jack input?

Are both mic 1 & 2 inputs not working?

Check the mic attenuation settings in the MCX8000 menu

Have other mics worked in the past?

I ended up using an olf Numark mic which worked just fine in both inputs.
The Sm58 and Akg were both connected by jack.

I should add that they are both brand new.

No idea. Bad cables?

The MCX mic channels are hardware based so should work all the time.

Not the cables, used the same cable for the Numark and SM58.
Tried a standard jack to jack and a TRX cable on the Sr40.
I will have to check specs on impedence etc.
But I find it hard to believe that an SM58 would not work. Thats been around since the 80's and is standard issue worldwide.
Puzzled........
