What's the code behind your Echopad pad page ?
It's not a native pad page, so maybe there's something in the code of the page that produces this behavior

the problem seems to be more ... hard to explain
in fact VDJ was having 7 fx slots but only 3 were available to deck fx and Release one
4 5 6 7 being assiciated to other "non deck" such as "Release" in a way to be store in settings.xml
there are apparently still some conflicts
