Topic: Souncloud fail to log in - Page: 1
For the last week or so, I frequently get logged out of Soundcloud and I have to manually log back in. It's easy to log back in but it happens so frequently it messes with my flow during my sets. Any suggestions? I don't remember it ever happening this often, been a user for many years

Hello Synonemusic,

May be worth checking if this disconnection occurs as frequently whether you stream when your computer is connected to the internet streaming via an ethernet cable or via Wifi, to think whether the issue may be on your computer setting or on the internet side or on Sound Cloud side.

The availability of streaming services depends on their traffic load.
If you connect while the Soundcloud server is saturated, it may disconnect more often than if you connect at a moment the traffic on SoundCloud server is reasonable.

I've been having the same issue. Soundcloud fails to login every time I open the software, and multiple playlists are left empty despite having several songs in them. I don't think it would be an internet connection issue or a soundcloud issue as I login instantly every time I open the software

I am also having the issue since the latest VirtualDJ update. Some playlists showing empty and getting logged out at irregular intervals . Once i log back in most times , the playlists populate again but sometime it takes shutting down and reinitializing VDJ to get the playlists back.

Whats the chance of it happening to several people at once after the last update?

I've been having the same issue too. Soundcloud fails to login every time I open the software and I am getting logged out at irregular intervals. I can log back in and the playlists populate again but very annoying while I am in the middle of a set. This issue has only started happening since the latest update.

I contacted VDJ support and they said there were no mass complaints from other users or on their test machines. So I sent the link to this post but there was no acknowledgement, instead their response to me was focused around

1.How many devices are connecting to your sound cloud account?

2. Is this happening while you are at gigs but is stable when you test at home?

if you are trying to access on a public hotspot (like at a gig / venue) then your connection might be filtered and is blocking many popular streaming sites to maintain bandwidth for all users.

I stream from my home and this can happen whether the controller is connected or not. Nothing has changed, no more devices have been added or connected to soundcloud and my wifi connection is perfect.

If you guys believe it was caused by the last update, reinstall the previous version and see if it helps.

I rolled back to the old version 7831 and absolutely no issues with playing a gig or at home like I did with 7921 . Now I'm just dealing with the fact it keeps asking me to update to that one I just clicked no so I have no idea what they changed in that version but 7831 works perfectly fine no re logging in trouble loading from SoundCloud at all

Thanks to everyone who has offered comments and solutions.

I tried to removing my account access on all my devices except for the computer I use for my live broadcasts, and still I was getting kicked out.

What I finally did was sign up for the DJ pro subscription with Soundcloud, which allows me to download the tracks locally. It does cost more, which is not ideal. I am betting this was Soundcloud's plan all along, hahahaha.

So this isn't really a fix to the issue, but it worked.

Hey, just to let you know I continued with that current update (7921) and around 1 week later the issue stopped occurring. Not sure what changed?

Annoying. Where can I find an older version that works properly?

I was having this issue too - I solved it on my end. I had to change my default web browser. I use my same laptop for my day job and there are specific daily authentication requirements for the browser my company requires us to use. Soundcloud wasn't able to log in because I can only authenticate manually by opening that browser. Once I changed my default browser back to Chrome, the issue went away.

Just subscribed to Soundcloud... and using the most current version of VDJ.. it seems to:

1) NOT auto log in when first opening the program.. ( as Tidal does)

2) does not connect (log in ) when attempting to load as track (as Beatport does)

3) continues to log itself out.. on a regular basis.. have only had the subscription for half a day and needed to relog 4 times. (both Beatport and Tidal, stay logged on)


Love exploring the track selection.. but at times either
1) get NO search results returned, from SoundCloud
OR
2) keep getting this.. error.. when attempting to stream a track in a VDJ list:




Is there a way to automate the login to Soundcloud when VDJ first opens.
as mentioned .. Tidal does that automatically ... VERY Awesome.
Beatport takes a bit more .. either to navigate to the beatport online folder for 2 sec, (or load a beatport track) I have the ONINIT navigate to the Beatport folder for 2 sec .. then back to last folder..l. to auto log into Beatport when first start of VDJ.
Is there a similar workaround to automate the initial login to Soundcloud?
(cannot find a way to automate (script) the first or subsequent needed logins to Soundcloud... )



Is there a way to Stay logged into Soundcloud?


and if NOT ..
Is there a way to query .. if one is logged into Soundcloud ?
How does the.... Search Menu button > Online Catalogs options > Use Soundcloud catalog ... know to remove the "(not logged in)" from the line of menu... when logged in ?


would like to have an indicator that blinks when NOT logged on.. (just need something to query)
so one can again relog so to not be wondering why there are no search results, or have a track fail to load at a critical moment, randomly.




some above, have suggested rolling back VDJ to a pre-VDJ 2024 version. (have not tired .. nor wish to)

It is not an issue of the last hops of the network connection ..
tested connected directly, with cat 6 ethernet cable, then fiber to the ISP.

UPDATE:

with bit more investigation, it turns out that precisely every 2 hours ..
Soundcloud logs out and Fails to log back.

(for example the expected time, that soundcloud will fail to log, at this moment, will be in 1hr and 19min)


I have created a ticket with soundcloud..
as don't know if this is soundcloud issue or VDJ.
(as a new subscriber, do not have history, to know the usual behavior, as some mention, it coincided with a VDJ update, but could also be a change at soundcloud, or both)


Will update with any news..

Can anyone here confirm whether the same occurs when accessing the service from other DJ software?

If it stays logged in with other s/w then it points to VDJ being the problem. If it also logs out then it's at the other end.

The issue with Soundcloud not staying logged in has been found, and should be fixed now.
