Topic: New beginner to Stems
Dear Virtualdj,
I've just downloaded Virtualdj 2025 and experimenting with Stems. I have a few questions. Please note I'm absolutely rubbish with technology lol. I've read the manual too.

Is Stems like a pre-recorded track meaning , could I program stems eg bass at particular cuepoints. If I press 'save prepared', am I able to play that same edited track in my set? Is this how it is supposed to work because it's not happening to me at the moment. Please educate me. This is a brand new chapter in my DJing career

Thank-you
Jav

Some videos that might help you out (made by Atomix staff):

There are many more by Atomix and others like @klaus as well.

Also read up on POI in the VirtualDJ iser manual, you can trigger stem related functionality through vdjscript at action points placed at various locations in the track.
Also, the stems of the user manual.

Thank-you for these links. I'm still finding it really difficult.

Once satisfied with my stems how do I save and use them in mylists with the other tracks. It's confusing because all the stems prepared tracks are in their folder. I'm trying to make them blend with the other songs in Mylists but can't do it. Do have to add the prepared stem from the sourced folder to Mylists? I've actually done this but it just played 1 minute of the song on acapella and I cannot understand why. Please help me. Sorry for being very dumb but I've watched the videos but cannot find the answer

Thank-you

Sorry I've got a questions to add. Is there a way I could see the entire hotcues and stems on pads? Because right now with the split mode it is only showing 4 hotcues? If I had the entire stems and hotcues I could mix effectively. Sorry for all the questions?

Why doesn't my base button on my stem pad do anything?

Thank-you. My main question was could I have more than 8 buttons on a single pad

I'm not reading the manual for you.
