I was testing a few things out with stems and noticed that on a particular song, the melody information seems to get lost? It was basically a guitar solo, but once I tried to take the "instrument" out, and I looped back and put it back in, a part of the solo was actually lost and never came back until I restarted Virtual DJ.

Ok, I resolved it.
Turns out that mapping something like 'stems "Instru"' does the full mapping for physical faders, so that going past 50% on the fader is the same as turning the EQ knob past 50% to start isolating (which is what I thought only 'stems "Fullxxx"' would do?). So I just put 'param_multiply 50%' so that pushing faders wouldn't go beyond full volume for each stem.
In my particular issue, I guess the stem separation system didn't recognize instrument from vocal with the guitar solo, so it had trouble isolating exactly what the instrument was, causing the audio to drop out, which made it sound like the stems were losing audio information.
