The POI editor is great - super intuitive with loads of great track markers etc. It would be awesome to add the ability to send a midi command an POI's in the track. This could be used to switch external hardware to specific patches, or with a CC or Note value it could trigger sequences on external hardware/software.
Use case example - I have a DJ setup with an external electric keyboard, SP404 and a digital guitar pedal (Quad Cortex). Whenever the song reaches a certain point, it sends a program change message to all the devices so they go onto the patch that has the right sounds ready to go. At some point in the song, it send a CC value to the quad cortex to further control a specific pedal inside the patch.
An alternative idea to this would be if you could pair a MIDI file to a song, so everytime the song is played back, that midi file is played back AND the Midi file's playhead and tempo adjusts to whatever the VDJ playhead/tempo is doing

I've already done this exact thing with a guitar pedal.
You need a virtualDevice definition and mapping to read variables and to spit out midi. Then a virtualmidi cable [loopmidi, IAC driver, m$ IAC equivalent when they get it stable] to send midi to destination.
PhantomDj's FreeStyler thread covers this, I have the files and a skin for single click placing poi ready to go.
