Topic: Problem with Tag - Page: 1
I have a request and a question. First of all, I would like to ask the authors of the Virtual DJ program to fix this because I think there is a mistake somewhere because the other songs are fine. I have such a tag,

and during playback I have something like this

As you can see in the tag with authors it shows unnecessary data. And where the title is supposed to be, it shows one of the performers of the song.

Disable cleanTagsInDeckDisplay to allow it to display the tags exactly as what it is in those fields.

That won't help in this case, since the information is actually duplicated in the tag, so you need to edit it in the tag editor to remove the artist from the title

@Adion so there is still track tag cleaning happening then for decks?

Reason for asking: The tag editor shows Dr. Dre feat Snoop Dogg but the deck shows only Dr Dre - I thought once that option was off everything would show equally in all cases (i.e. the artist line display in tdeck shoupd show Dr Dre feat Snoop Dogg)

It would not be identical, but you'd still have unnecessary duplication on the deck display, just a little different

You're wrong to think it won't help. I think there is a serious bug in Virtual DJ. And why do I think so? Because I have several hundred mp3 files, and all of them are good except the one with Dr. Dre feat. Snoop Dogg. It can't be that in all cases the tag is correct and in others it isn't - there is something wrong with the program.

Thank you very much for all your help.

You literally showed the tag editor showing the tag is wrong...

Why is it wrong? If she showed me in all my songs, I would say that you are right - but you are not right. Because it showed me Dr. Dre feat. Snoop Dogg songs - and the tag displays the rest correctly.

I don't understand how you can blame VDJ.

If all your other tags are correct, and just this one file has wrong info.... make the corrections and save the tag.

Where did the file come from? Looks as if you've only had it a few days.

There are many things that need to be fixed by the Virtual DJ developers.

Please answer the question, and list all the other things that need fixed.

The problem is with refreshing monitors at 144Hz and 240Hz
Problem with Automix and Video - concerns subtitles that overlap on a scroll
Problems with Polish font and capital letters

That kind of attitude won't get you far here.
It's your choice whether you'll listen to what people say and fix your issues, or insist on being wrong and just have a poor experience.

Your screenshot above clearly displays that the "TITLE" ID3 tag field also contains the Artist name (including the featured Artist as well)

We are not making this out. It is there on your screenshot.
So yes, you first need to fix that.
It doesn't matter why this song has wrong info. It has. And you need to fix it. MANUALLY.

Now choose your path wisely..

And you know why I do this. Because I use rekordbox. Because for the console XDJ-RX3 the song title is displayed in the bar. And I want the artist and title of the song to be displayed.

That's funny actually..
So, you did enter irrelevant data to irrelevant fields. On purpose. Because of Rekordbox!
And now you demand that VirtualDJ should show your wrong data correctly!
Instead of going to Pioneer and asking them to provide the XDJ-RX3 firmware with an option to show "Artist - Title" on it's main screen which is what you want to achieve..

And the funniest thing of all is that in VirtualDJ you can remap the controller to show "Artist - Title" on the screen, instead of "Title" without botching your ID3 tag data.

You think stupidly. First, I made changes in the Virtual DJ program and then in Rekordbox. So please go to Pioneer and ask for what you wrote - I wish you luck.

If you know how to do it, please describe - because I don't know.
