Topic: weird sound crackling
I don’t know why, but I’m getting a slight crackling noise in the high frequencies of my tracks in VirtualDJ. I’ve tried pretty much everything I can think of so far:

- Checked PC performance and CPU usage.
- Checked and updated audio drivers.
- Adjusted the audio latency/buffer settings (currently at 512).
- Tested with my DDJ-FLX10 disconnected, using my laptop speakers.
- Tested the same tracks in another media player (Windows Media Player), where they play perfectly fine.
- Disabled stems in VirtualDJ, but the crackling remained.
- Tested multiple tracks, especially those with heavy bass, 808s, and drums.
- Disabled Master Tempo, but it made no difference.
- Confirmed that the issue happens through both my headphones and speakers.

The weirdest part is that the only thing that seems to temporarily fix it is loading an MP3 track and then playing a WAV track. The crackling stops for a while, even on tracks that were crackling before, but eventually comes back.

Has anyone experienced something similar or have any idea what could be causing this? I’m using VirtualDJ with a DDJ-FLX10, and I’m starting to suspect it might be something specific to VirtualDJ rather than my hardware or the audio files.

Did you check a ground issue too? On some laptops it could occur. I am not sure the type of noise it is.
Or your sound buffer is too low.

I’ve tried increasing the buffer to 512-1024 samples, but the crackling is still there, i have recordings of it if you want to hear it
