I'm running on my laptop W98SE.
Now I want to upgrade to Xp Prof.
Do you Know ant problem about audio quality...
(loudness, crackling, etc)
sound device in my laptop is a YAMAHA DS-XG...
If I upgrade to xp prof and the sound is not good like w98 can I make some manual configuration...

The ideal is dual-boot. Make a little partition (1 giga) for w98se and a second for wXP.

I´m running XP Prof. with Creative without probs. But I don´t know how it works with a Yamaha card...

You shold have no problems. However .. if you want MAX performance out of Atomix ... use Windows 2000. It makes the best use of system resources.
As far as sound quality goes ... all the operating systems are fine ... just as long as you keep the most up-to-drivers on your system, and your sound card. But definately stick to Win2k or XP ... stay away from 98 if you can, with my personal experience !

I run a Hurcules card (which is a yamaha chip) on winXP, it works fine.
