A nice feature I'd like to see is the option to make the headphones' output automatically switch to the deck the crossfader is not set to. Because obviously I don't need to hear the main deck through my headphones if it's already playing through the speakers...

With full version, the headphones recieve signal only from ACTIVE deck. The unactive deck CUE volume can aslo be heard, adjusted by a volume slider avalible on some skins or a with plug-in (but it's disabled by default with sound card configuration I read from your description of usage).
Demo version does not include prelistening with headphones, it's a limitation.
