I was 18 and remember this song being played at a bar called D.O.K. in Garden Grove, California... Now I can't swear by the spelling of the lyrics, but I'll try it phonetically:
"Shad-a-me, shad-a-me, oh oh oh..." That's all I can remember. They played it on a specific night and the dance floor was always filled... it may not be a great song, but knowing what it is will put my mind at rest.
Thanks

Did you remember the year when you listen this song? Maybe I have it...

It would have been either 1988 or 1989, most likely 89.

I have the song in my head already, but I don't remember the name... I will look in my songs and bring it back with the title.

Thanks... It is driving me crazy!

Phonetically...?
Hmm... Could it be " C'est La Vie" ... ???
If so, its probably Ace of Base... Late 80s/Early 90s
Taking a wild guess, only... from your phonetically written words :)

I don't have it found in my songs... I don't forget it ... but I don't remember the title either... I'm searching... ;-)
Is a dance song... is a group who sing it, a male vocal if I remember well ... isn't it?

Yes, I believe it is a male vocal... I don't think it is C'est La Vie... course, I don't have the Ace Of Base version... Well, if you think of it...
The word, "SHAD" is pronounced, as I remember, like the word "HAD"
S - HAD - AH - ME, S - HAD - AH - ME, OH OH OH... the "OH" go up the scale, not down.

I don't know... it has been a long time... "Shad o me" seemed to be part of the chorus... what is the title of the song you are thinking so I can look for it and listen to it.

"damn, why did I not think of that one..." Because that's NOT it... :) Sorry, but nice try, thanks for playing, here are some nice parting gifts....
But seriously, that isn't it either... I guess some things in the 80's were meant to stay there, like the hair cuts!
I'm listening to your recommendation right now. This would most likely have been an import. Would it help to say that this was in a Gay Bar?!
Think, "Shatner" like William Shatner. Then take off the "TNER" and change it to a "D" for the first word in the chorus "SHAD" Then "OH" like the letter "O" or the word, "Oh" and then "ME" like me and you.... for "SHAD O ME, SHAD O ME, O O O" with the last O's going up a scale, one whole step each.
And the "Life goes on..." What song were you thinking?
Thanks for trying though, really.

Don't feel bad ACW... I appreciate the effort... Like I said, I'll leave my hair and that song in the 80's... Of course, they NOW have a pill for getting a boner, maybe they'll make one for hair restoration (Not that the BALD look doesn't look good on me - Picard, eat your heart out) who knows, maybe even a memory pill or a machine to travel back in time in your own mind... then, maybe then, I will get it.

looooool ;)

Well I don't feel bad at all. I wish I have a better understanding to help. I know I don't know everything (but I give a try)...
I hope you could get the song... and please let us know.
I learn from my mistakes and it's a process to be better. I only move on.

If I find it, you'll be the second to know ;0)

Sing and record. It would be easier with a test file.
You won't be the first to do like that.
