Topic: Auto Gain doesn't seem to work

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

I'm having a little difficulty with my auto gain.

Most of my tracks are encoded at 320kbps. My settings are:

Auto Gain: Always Match
Limiter: Disabled
Time Stretch: Disabled

I always load my first track with a gain of -4. The problem is this number never changes on either channel. If I load a track that's not as load as the one playing, the auto gain does not seem to compensate.

Are my settings right?

most people find auto gian is totaly wrong some times. what you can do is get a gain equalising utility (cant remember the word) yer normailising. and set auto gain to off relying on the normailised gain of say 90 Db.

so do you mean to actually re-encode all my mp3s at a particular volume?

no, you can use mp3gain (http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/), a free non-destructive gain normalizer that doesn't require re-encoding; However you will have to re-analyze the tracks in VDJ.

The third Brendan in the community, welcome :).

and welcome from the second :)

Looks like we 'gained' another Brendan.

...or maybe Auto-Gained him.

"Auto-Gained" - love it.

Can 't think of any more VDJ jokes, but you'll be the first to know.

totally unrelated though ...........

this guy walks into a bakery with a cod under his arm ......

he says to the baker "Do you sell fishcakes"

the baker give him a funny look and says "No!!"

he says "Aw that's a shame, it's his birthday today!"
