Pleased to hear you've got a few steps further since last night, please check my blog for the correct settings in VDJ for optimum soundquality. The sound quality isn't low on any sclae, it's a good minimum IMO, needs to sound perfected, this perfecting is being done as we speak so that's a short term minor issue (for most).
Is your soundcard in ASIO mode?.
I'm sure you can use the sync button with TC, why not focus on manual mixing though?, not many people use the beatmatch stuff, you have BPM/rythem window by default and this is enough auto features IMO, see how you get on.
And of course we'll have patience with you :), good to have you here like I said.
Be sure to create a blog now your a full version user, and read other peoples!, there's alot you can learn just by reading the blogs alone.
