Why is it that when a new version comes out, e.g., VDJ4.2r1, we need to revamp our computers to get it to work?
Just doesn't seem normal?

cstoll,

Thanx for your suggestion. I already did all possible combinations of Auto Latency, with or without Safe Mode and Simple Scratch - didn't work.

Regarding the CPU brands, you probably misunderstood me. I have never had the problem on any AMD machine, only on Intel Core Duo or Core 2 Duo. So, my question was: has anyone had the Automix problem on AMD laptop ?

bogart,

What processor and sound card do you have on your computer ?

Processor is AMD athlon 64 3500+
1 GB ram
Audio is Realtk ALC 655.

This system worked pefect in 3.4. Automix never skipped nor deleted any songs.
I only use automix for dinner music.
Just doesn't make sense to me since automix worked in 3.4, I would believe it should work in ver 4.2 since this is a better version.

bogart,

Sorry to hear that. Looks like my hypothesis about the processor brand is not correct and things are much more complicated. After trying so many changes I have reverted back to 3.4 and I'll be waiting for the development team to come up with a fix for the problem in the new version.

Agree I believe the automix is messed up.
I know some people use Winamp or Ipod for dinner / cocktail
music. However I have used VDJ full out from begining to end of
evening. Looks like I will have to use 3.4 for anything I do for automix,
then switch to 4 for the rest of evening.
Not the way I Prefer it, but it is a work around for now.
Hope this changes soon.
