I finally figured this one out..
1. Running on batteries relieves the problem..
2. or Plugging my laptop into a dedicated outlet with minimal use (one not being used for a tv set or video game systems etc) the outlet or powerbar for my gear only seems to work ok.
3. If this doesnt help last resort is to get an extention cable with no ground, cut the peice of rubber from the end off, plug your laptop into it having the ground prong hang off the end, and then ground my laptop to my dj mixer with a fat solid cable.
I did number 3 before trying number 2!!
Hope this helps anyone thinking their computer sucks and transmitts unwanted noise permanantly like I did..

I always found if you plug your mixing board into the wall separate from the computer helps..

Try using a ground loop isolator from Maplin £8.99 worked for me.
