Topic: Cracking sound when switching to Analog audio source

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

Hello there,

Hope someone can help.

I'm trying to use the MK2 as my only mixer and have connected (2) Denon DN-S1000 tabletop cd player to the inputs of the MK2. When I play music that is already in my laptop the sound is fine, but when I switch to the audio source so I can play regular cd's through my Denon CD player I get horrible cracking sound.

I have the MK2 connected to a power supply.

I have also checked the IRQ setting and there is no conflict at all.

Thanks in advance for any help!

No only when using the external cd players. I've used the console by itself (no external inputs) about 10 times last year and no problems whatsoever.

The cables are brand new I just bought the cd players last week and both cd players do it...(different sets of cables).

I've found this link that shows me I have to insert an adjustable resistor to lower the line level signal coming into the console.

I'm going to give it a try and see what happens.

Any other suggestions are more than welcome!

OK...problem solved!

It seems the MK2 Console cannot handle high output line levels like those generated by the Denon and Pioneer cd players.

The potentiometer solution works perfect.
