It would be nice but I use external mixer so I have them on it.

the levels shown in VDJ are just a crosection of the waveform for that specific moment in time so any controler that used VDJs levels information isnt going to be that great. if they get serious they could write a special WDM and ASIO driver (or even do it in the firmware) to take the real levels and show them on a display.

if you want a visual indication of your actual output level (in actual db rather than just a prety, but useles line) the best thing is going to be the LED meter on a normal mixer unfortunately

You might be able to do this with Deckadance as a VST in Fruityloops. My trial version expired so I cant try it to see.

You could also get somthing like this:

AMERICAN DJ 19 IN DB DISPLAY METER

the torq exponent has a volume meter im not sure if its compatable with vdj (the volume meter that is)

There is no Level meter led on the BCD 2000. I don't know for the 3000 but as the packaging are close, I don't think so.
I have an external mixer, and I use those displayed by VDJ on the screen, but you have to load a skin that support it.

If you need someting more precise, you should purchase an specific equipment as skyfxl describes above.

I have a skin that has LED but I like it for the looks but I don't know how accurate is it...

To go by software would cause more stress than good IMO. You have volume on controler, volume on software, Volume on external mixer, volume on sound card. Then you mix in all the gain knobs on amps, software, controllers, mixer, power speaker

where do you begin to get the perfect sound launched from a software medium...

OHHH by the way, forgot to factor in recording level and rip level.
